Say it as…A Diwali Post..!!
Finally from this weekend we started preparation for Diwali.
We are not at Hyd home for Diwali but still wanted our home to look spic and
span. Our entire Saturday went dusting, cleaning, etc.. and in evening we went
for grocery shopping. I slept like a log- hubby says.
On Sunday we started preparing Diwali delicacies. I had
noted down all the recipes from mom, My savior. It was my first time for me to prepare all this, but with mom’s recipes it really became simpler. So, I started
with Chakli. I had all ingredients
ready and started making dough. Once the dough was ready, hubby’s work started.
He started preparing Chakli and I
started frying it. I would say, I we were succeeded. We managed to make good Chakli.
Then I started with making Karanji. It is basically a wrap with coconut filling, deep fried in
ghee. It was simple. I have tried it earlier also, so it was not a big deal.
Though hubby helped me in this also, I was tired by his time. You know how
caring my hubby is…lol
Once we finished doing Karanji,
we started for Besan Laddu. It is the
most favorite dish of both Hubby and me. I knew how to do it but was feeling
lazy by now. But then again took help from hubby in bhunofying it. And tada..!!!
Laddu were ready..!!! what a feeling it was..like I have completed climbing a
mountain and I am on top of the world. But had no energy left to shout out, so dinner was outside.
Still 2 more delicacies to go yaar..!! Chivda and Sankarpali. Will
do it in a weeks time. Coz after that we are leaving for Mumbai.
Oh god.. can you please pass this 4 days in a flick..??!!

You have placed me in dilemma.
Its not easy to handle life,
Its not easy to express feelings,
Its not easy to convey problems,
Its not easy to pass on thoughts,
Its not easy to devolve my complications,
Its not easy to surrender happiness,
Its not easy to cede everything,
and go..
You have placed me in dilemma.

Birthday & Dasera Party..
First come first.. Aditya’s Birthday Party..
We were confused where to go. We have so many restaurants
here, with different kind of tastes.
Birthday Cake |
@ 2.30 pm we
decided Rajdhani because my office is in one part of Hyd and his is
another and it would be difficult for me to go down there. So we decided Rajdhani,
a middle place for both of us.
@5.30 pm rain
struck Hyd. As main transport here is road, the traffic was just immovable.
Effect was ‘change in venue’ again.
@7.30 pm Aditya
still stuck in traffic and me being intelligent didn’t moved from
office..hehehe..!! So finally, I mean, finally we decided De Thali. And this was
final for two reasons a) it was near to our place and b) Aditya had reached
nearby to that place
So basically it was a Rajasthani cuisine restaurant. Taste
was awesome. As compared to Mumbai restaurants. In Mumbai there are lots of
such restaurants but taste was good here. Here goes the menu
- Buttermilk
- Varieties of Bhajji ( corn and moong)
- 3 types of Chutneys ( Imli, Pudina, Coconut)
- Puri, Pulka, Bhakri( with ghee and Jaggery)
- 4 types of Subji ( Paneer, Mix Veg, Palak Dal Batti, Cauliflower
- 2 Sweets ( Ras Malai, Choclate Halwa)
- 1 sprouts subji
- Kadi
- Simple Daal
- Steamed rice
- Biryani
- Daal khichadi ( with lots of ghee)
Please don’t ask for pics.. coz as soon as they served we
did ‘toot
pado’ on it.
Dasera Party J
I know I am late in
posting this, but then too, I will go ahead and do it. So actually it was not
party it was get together. We had
invited some of our known families here to our home. We had blast. A couple had
two daughters and they were just awesome. I just loved both of them. Guests started
arriving from 11.30 am. We did some gupshup.
Played with two babies and went to kitchen for pre-lunch preparation. So the
menu was
Pic after Dasera Puja |
- Buttermilk
- Kanda Bhajji
- Papad, aachar
- Raita
- Pulkas
- Black Vatana Subji
- Potato Subji
- Steamed rice
- Tadka Dal
- Kheer
We had lunch. We were dizzy after having heavy food. Guests
left @ 4.00pm after some snacks and tea and then I went to snooze land. After
getting up we did our first Dasera Puja together. Went to nearby temple and
took blessings.
Basically I had fun. It was like dream come true to celebrate festival with Aditya. And not to
forget that our guests were also so nice and helping.
What you people did on Dasera??

Such A Start..
OMG.. what a start to my Monday morning. Everything is just
messed up. Puufff..!!
Alarms are so important na..?? I don’t know what was wrong
with them today. It just didn’t ring. And obviously we Aditya got late.
My office timings itself are late, according to hubby. So we wake up
late. Bath late. Lunch box late. Breakfast late. And what not yaar!!!
Then, After coming to office I realize I have not bought
mobile charger. OMG.. whats wrong with this Monday? Two days holiday made me
forgot everything. You asking what I did? I was in Eat-Sleep-Eat-Sleep syndrome. Really.. I did nothing
else. Aditya was busy in his bike servicing. His first love of life. And I relaxed,
Whole weekend. Real whole weekend.
No..my rant does not end here.. best is yet to come.. my mobile
internet is not working guys.. I am going to cry now. Life is just so not
better without internet. I don’t know what’s wrong. I have switched off and on
my mobile. I have removed battery and rubbed sim card and restarted again. I
have called the operator also. But nothing helped.
Now, I just remember one dialogue from the film Jab we Met..
“bas Babaji..ab aur excitement mat dena is week
main..bilkul boring bana do is monday ko”
How was your so-called
“Monday”??
PS: eagerly waiting for mid week holiday..yay..!!!

Sweet.. and Sour..
1st Incident ( Yesterday Night)
Me: Honey. How about aloo paratha for dinner today..
Hubby: are you serious??
Me: Of course
Hubby: no no.. I mean you must be tired na..
Me: Yes I am..but I am in mood to eat aloo paratha.
Hubby: Ok you do preparations.. I will make it..
Me: ( I loved it)
And we ate garam garam, yummy, tasty Aloo parathas by
Hubby..
2nd Incident (Today Morning)
I was on bed in half sleep. Hubby tried to wake me up. I was
no mood to wake up. So asked him ( in sleep of course) what the matter is.
Hubby: I am making breakfast. What you want?
Me: (wow..) anything that you will make, will do
Hubby: how about poha??
Me: will do
After I got up all my breakfast was ready with my type of
tea.
3rd Incident (After breakfast)
Me: baby what should I make for lunch (box)?
Hubby: (busy in replying mails on lappy) hmm hmm
Me: are tell na baba
Hubby: ya ya
Me: I going to make bhendi (which he hates a lot)
Hubby: ok ok
After some time, he realizing what he said started regretting
it.
Right or Wrong..!!
Sometimes I think (sometimes??) how each member in family is
dependent on each other. No wonder I am also dependent on my family.. Especially
on my hubby. And of course no points for guessing, he is also dependent on me.
As we are alone here..Our dependency increases even more.
Today morning when our maid Kamla arrived, she started
telling me her story. She told that yesterday when she was helping her husband
in some of his work her first finger of right hand got cut. Actually it was not
a cut; I would say it was a wound. Her doctor suggested keeping hand dry and
not wetting it. So the point is, she denied working in water till she is fine.
After hearing her story in her own loud voice, hubby Aditya
started cribbing. As she doesn't understand Marathi we keep on conversing in Marathi.
He was like; we will search for another maid. Tell her not to come from tomorrow
itself. Initially, I was surprised. Aditya is a person who is very calm, quiet
and understanding. I thought let him cool down and we will discuss on this
later on.
While having breakfast, I asked him why he said like that. He
was clear and straight. We were out of station for more than 10 days this
month. Moreover she will not work for more say 3 days. That means we will give
her half month salary like charity or something?? And this was the case last
month too. We were in Mumbai for 8 to 10 days and when we came back she went on
holiday for 1 week. So why are we still sticking to her??
First thing that struck my mind was “who will help me till
we get another maid”??? But on other hand Aditya was also right. She had
started taking us for granted. This was not good. So finally we came to
decision that we are going to stop all this and say goodbye to her..!!
I don’t know whether I have took right decision or not.. :( I am a bit worried
now. Will I get a new maid at earliest?? Or will have to wait for long?? Gahh..!!
Is this the problem with you too??

My Pet.. SCOOBY..
Ya..today I have decided to write about Scooby.. my cute
little boy Scooby. He is a black lab at my mamma’s home. Honestly my whole
family is crazy about dogs from my grandfather to my father and now my bro and
me. Its been almost three dogs in my family from their times and Scooby is fourth
one.
Me and my mom had gone for shopping on a bright Sunday.
After coming home from shopping what did we find at our home?? It was a cute
little puppy roaming here and there. Initially we thought that bro had bought
it from someone but then dad told us that we have really adopted him..!!
Everybody at home was happy except my mom. As she don’t like
dog breed much. But soon he became a family member. We all were surprised to
see new activity each day done by him. Someday he would play hide n seek and
someday he would play chase game. When we use to reach home after long time he
use to jump and play with us very joyfully. Actually Scooby is very active dog,
I must say. His cute little tail, his cute puppy face had taken all attention. In
very short time he became an important member in our family.
After almost one year dad appointed a trainer for him. He taught
many commands to Scooby like sit, sleep, stand, belt, etc., after that there
were no bounds and limits for him. When dad or bro use to take him for walk he use
to walk like tiger on road. Going out of home is like heaven for Scooby. He gets
very excited and shoes different kind of energy.
That scooby..!! |
Many more years to go toghether.
What pets do my friends have??? Do share in comments.

Settled..!?!
Hey Guys..
I am finally settled now..!?! I am thinking of Ganesh Utsav here
in Hyderabad. Does anybody have idea how it is celebrated here. As this is my
first year here in hyd I am going to do expedition but after coming back from
Marido’s hometown. As he keeps on telling me that there is more fun in hometown than in Mumbai. Frankly
speaking I have never been out of Mumbai in Ganesh Utsav. Going down to memory
lane I remember, we used to roam throughout Mumbai in these ten days.
It was fun roaming all night and watching those big idols of
Ganpati Bappa. It was such a deity scene and most importantly I, specially would
never feel like leaving those places. In my mind I would always imagine me
watching those big big idols till eternity.
I want this time also to visit these places with Marido, but
lack of time again. Why can’t we have enough time to spend with our families? I
always want to leave my job and stay with them but also in back of my mind I think
that after some days I will get bored and will not be able to stay alone at
home in hyd. Empty time kills me.
Anyways this is just like I am going to visit hometown in
hurry.. a quick visit to mom and grandma.. and back to hyd. But this time my
FIL and SIL are coming here with us to stay. I will definitely share my
experience with all amigos. Till then keep in touch..

Physically in HYD..Mentally in MUM..
Hi friends.. I am going to share my
experience of going to Mumbai 1st time after marriage. As I have
mentioned earlier we both (My & Marido) have families there. It was sheer fun visiting them. We first went to FIL.
He is so welcoming I tell you. So caring & loving that I can see
love in his eyes for all of us. He was happy too to see us healthy &
happy. Its worth mentioning about marido's Aunt (Hubby's Fathers Sister). She is too like sugar. You won't believe she made all my favourite dishes irrespective of marido's choice..I am so lucky to have MIL like her.
My SIL gifted me dress, jewelry, etc..for my birthday. She prepared besan ladoo for us as we both like it. It was loving to stay with in-laws as I have never stayed there for more than 1 day before. I always wish we all stay together like other families. I miss them so much gahh!!
Then I went to mumma's place..and I felt complete..really..!! like never before. It was like dream come true. My BFF shilpa
also came at my home. We celebrated so much that we didn't know when we
slept off. My mom also prepared all her best made dishes for me. It was
like heaven having them after so long. Doing masti with bro was like nostalgia. We can never stay quiet when we are together.. you know.. Typical Sis & Bro..hah..!!
Then we went to my grandma's home. It was like meeting my best friend..yes indeed. She was so happy
to see me that she started crying and hugging me madly. And finally I
met my ‘Angel'(my Cousin). It felt like purpose of my tour has
completed. I love her so much that I started telling her I made her
school admission in Hyderabad and toddler was happy to come with me.
And finally it was time to leave. The most painful part of journey. But you know.. as a part of life we have to depart and walk on our ways. I am missing them all.. gahh!! That is why I feel I am physically in HYD and mentally still in MUM..!!
